Mentoring Program

The Menard County Youth Mentoring Program matches teen volunteers with at-risk youth in the county. The mentors and youth spend time together building friendships, working on social skills, improving grades, and having fun.

Teen Mentoring Program

The teen mentoring program matches high school students who meet certain criteria with elementary and middle school students who are considered at-risk academically or socially. The high school mentors give up at least two class periods per week, usually during their study hall time, to work with younger students in the district. They work on academic, social, and organizational skills. The young students benfit from the extra help and from having an older friend. The high school mentors benefit from feeling good about helping others in need.
