Rural Family Services

The Rural Family Services is a social service program sponsored by the task force and funded through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services that assists families in Logan, Mason, Menard, and Christian Counties. Services include:

  • Mentoring
  • Family Advocacy Services
  • Crisis Assistance and Intervention
  • Tutoring Services and Peer Facilitation Linkages
  • Resource Referrals and Support

A team of family advocates works in each county with children and families in need of services. This work is done in the client’s home, community, or at the child’s school.

Making a Referral

Referrals are primarily made by DCFS, but are also accepted from local social service programs, churches, schools, or anyone identifying a family or child in need. To make a referral, contact Rory Stoller at (217) 632-2984.

Becoming a Family Advocate or Volunteer

If you have interest in becoming a part-time contractual Family Advocate or would like to volunteer to support the work of the Rural Family Services, please complete and submit the volunteer form or contact Rory Stoller at (217) 632-2984.
